Can I sync Todo with iCal or Outlook using a wired connection?

No. Todo requires a Wi-Fi connection to synchronize over the network with iCal or Outlook via Appigo Sync.

Apple does not currently allow third-party applications to participate in the synchronization process which occurs using the USB cable and iTunes. If this changes in the future, we will investigate this as an additional method of synchronization.

How can I configure a direct IP Address for synchronizing with Appigo Sync?

This is an advanced configuration. Only proceed if you understand your local network configuration.

If you are having trouble with your iPhone/iPod touch automatically discovering Appigo Sync on your local network, it may work better for you to set a static IP Address on your Mac Desktop computer. To do this, open System Preferences and go into the Network settings.

Click the "Advanced" button and change your IPv4 setting to "Manually" configure an IP Address. As noted above, please make sure you understand your local network, as setting these values incorrectly may prevent you from accessing the Internet and/or cause other computers on your network to have problems connecting with the network.

Inside Appigo Sync, open the Advanced page and set a static port to use. This can be almost any number you wish, but using higher numbers (but less than 65536) is more safe as you will not interfere with other services already running on your computer.

On your iPhone in the synchronization settings of the Appigo Application, select "Other Desktop, enter in the IP Address and Port of the computer where Appigo Sync is running and finally follow the instructions shown on the iPhone/iPod touch after tapping the "Authorize" button.

Should my iPhone/iPod touch and my desktop be on the same network?

Yes, your iPhone/iPod touch and your desktop running Appigo Sync should be on the same computer network (subnet). Your iPhone/iPod touch must use Wi-Fi to connect to the network.

Appigo Sync uses a technology called Bonjour which allows your iPhone and your desktop to discover each other without having to enter in any network addresses or special ports. While it may be possible with advanced configurations for Bonjour to work across multiple subnets, Bonjour works best when the two devices are connected to the same subnet on your network.

To verify that your desktop computer and your iPhone/iPod touch are on the same network, please use the following process:

On your desktop, open the Network settings in System Preferences.

Press the "Advanced..." button and then go to the TCP/IP settings screen. Your subnet mask and router information must match the information on your iPhone/iPod touch.

You can find the TCP/IP address information for your iPhone/iPod touch by opening the device's main Settings -> Wi-Fi.

Then, tap the blue chevron button to see the specifics.
